POSITIONAL SHOOTING CLINIC
1/2 DAY CLINIC
This clinic is a deep dive into positional shooting and is purposed to provide competitors speed and efficiency when applied to their course of fire endeavors. This will be fast-paced and stressful. Students should expect to get as many reps as we can fit in; working a variety of props, execute courses of fire, and training to the point of failure so we can hone in on gaps of knowledge and skill for development. This clinic covers: • Traditional positional shooting: standing, kneeling, sitting, prone • Equipment – support bags, bipods, tripods • Competitive positional shooting: props, barricades • Stability • Reticle/target acquisition • Transitions • Movement • Weapon manipulations Intended Outcomes: • Make first round impacts • Execute efficient and convicted corrections • Decrease round count needed to succeed at a match • Efficient movement and transitions • Shave time off the clock For this clinic, we do expect you come with a relatively zeroed gun with ammo you are familiar with. We will conduct a swift zero/chrono check at the beginning of class. Our expectation is that you understand and are always able to and will apply firearm safety rules. A safety/medical brief will be given at the start of class. If you fail to safely manipulate your firearm in any way, you are subject to be disarmed, and a refund will not be issued. Required Gear: • 150 match grade rounds of the same lot • Bipod • Support bag • Ballistic solver/app (Kestrel preferred) • Data arm band or rifle data card • (3) mags • Belt mounted mag pouch • Tools for rifle and optic system • Eye pro • Ear pro (electronic is preferred) • Note taking material • Hydration Recommended Gear: • Chronograph (highly preferred) • Mil reticle • Shooting Mat • Tripod • Binoculars or spotting scope • Range finder • Knee pads • Sunscreen • Headache meds • Chair • Food • Weather gear
